    Hi Harold--Was just browsing your pics, and noticed this gull shot. I was wondering if the colors here are accurate for what you saw? In this image,
    the mantle looks way too light for a Western Gull, and the primaries on a Western are really black, not gray. Makes me think more of a Glaucous-winged Gull, tho the primaries are slightly darker than the mantle. Possible that it is a hybrid between the two gulls, commonly called an Olympic Gull, per my book. Not a big deal, it's a great gull shot, good detail, wonderful lighting. It just triggered the question in my mind. Since it was taken pretty far north, it could be in range for either one. Hmmmm.....
