Judy, I don't know the name of the purple wildflowers. I should know the names of the plants, but it has been too long since I took plant taxonomy. I saw occasional patches of these plants in pastures between Las Vegas and Santa Rosa, NM. I posted a closeup shot of some of the plants in my "recent pictures" gallery.
